Proscovia Alando
Co- founder at Ressect
Goal € 9,500
My name is Proscovia Alando, the co- founder at Ressect. Help Ressect fight hunger in Kenya by providing affordable insect-based protein through an efficient process.
We set up an insect farming start-up – Ressect. Ressect specialized in farming Black Solder Fly insects (BSF) as an alternative protein source in animal feed formulation. Our start-up operates in a circular economy basis where nothing goes to waste.
Need
We carried out various trials with the insect farming and realized that it could lower the cost of production while reducing pressure on the wild stock (Fishmeal) and providing a consistent supply of protein. But it was at that point when we spent hours to manually do harvesting, sieving and drying of the insect larvae. We needed help from our community to automate our processes and make our production efficient.
Through your support, we will be able to ensure a more efficient production process and a consistent supply of insect protein to promote sustainable and affordable fish farming and meet the nutritional needs of our community.

Dorah Momanyi
Co- founder at iPop Africa
Goal € 8,000
I am Dorah Momanyi, a masters graduate in Food Science and Nutrition, on a journey that birthed iPop Africa.
iPoP Africa uses a cereal popping technology to reclaims the sovereignty of climate-smart indigenous grains by transforming them into modern acceptable and healthy snack products. We source grains from small holder farmers, improving farmers’ incomes and livelihoods.
Need
Currently we employ 4 staffs and pack around 200 products a day by hand. The biggest need for iPoP is a packaging machine. The packing machine will enable us automate our production process and increase efficiency and guarantee food safety. We need your help to raise the amount required for this packaging machine.
Join us and support us to ensure everyone everywhere enjoys Healthy, nutritious and delicious African Snacks!

Joseph Ante
CEO at Maatalous Nasah International Limited
Goal € 4,500
Hi, my name is Joseph Ante, the CEO of Maatalous Nasah International Limited, an agritech company running a smart food systems fabrication start-up called Agrisiti.
At Agrisiti, we have developed a two-pronged approach by firstly deploying our solution that empowers young people to get involved in smart farming through the creation of smart school farms and urban home farms for subsistence and livelihood. The second approach we are adopting is the transference of knowledge through our unique Young City Farmers Initiative (YCFI) curriculum designed to train young people on smart farming approaches thereby empowering them to come out of poverty and feed themselves, their families and make income from it.
Need
Through the platform of the YCFI programme we are on a mission to raise over 10,000 young city farmers by 2025 and ensuring a 40% increase in acceptability and interest in food production amongst youths, especially those resident in schools that our school farms are operational and those who utilize our educational materials. In order to achieve it, further improvements in teaching methods are urgently needed, and several digitization tools are required to accelerate this process.
Thank you for joining us to raise the new generation of food growers!
